X3 is changing the way creators approach the creative process. By first shooting in 360 degrees and later reframing the footage, one video can be edited in endless ways. You’re always able to capture your best moments whether it’s catching a big wave or landing a difficult trick. All you have to do is stand up, record and zoom in later in the Insta360 app. Thanks to 360-degree recording, you can also turn a 4:5 Instagram post into a 9:16 TikTok video in no time, with no loss of quality.

The X3’s 360 video quality also got a boost with the new Active HDR mode, which is driven by the camera’s new 1/2-inch sensor. Active HDR uses an innovative algorithm to stabilize action images, minimize ghosting and reveal details that other action cameras miss in over- and under-exposed areas.

Increased photo quality

With a new 1/2″ sensor, the X3 can capture even more than before with a big improvement in resolution and image quality compared to its predecessor.

For example, the X3 has the ability to take a picture with a single lens thanks to Single-lens mode. This mode available on the X2 has now been upgraded to 4K resolution and is perfect for immersive first-person footage. To do even more with POVs, the X3 also features the new Maxview option where the camera films an extremely wide 170° angle. This mode films in 2.7K and offers even more options for POV footage.

The X3 delivers the most megapixels ever in a 360 action cam with 72MP stills for ultra-detailed photos. It also takes 8K 360 timelapses, perfect for cityscapes and landscapes. In addition, the X3 also has famous Bullet Time slow-motion mode, also this mode has been boosted in resolution and frames up to 4K @120fps and 3K @180fps!

Action Ready, Start, GO

The X3 uses a 6-axis gyroscope that makes the most of the device’s stabilization. Combined with Insta360’s well-known Flowstate stabilization, all video is filmed super-stably. In addition, it is also possible to turn on Horizon lock which locks the camera to the horizon, preventing the camera from rotating in the image.

Rugged and waterproof

The Insta360 X3 is rugged and waterproof up to 10 meters (33ft) out of the box. Lens protectors are also available for action sports filmmakers who want more protection.

Walk mode and pre-recordings

Even if you don’t know when the action will happen, X3 will catch it. The new Loop Recording mode turns the X3 into a dashcam, recording video continuously but saving only the last few minutes according to the interval you set, saving valuable space on your memory card.

It is also possible to use the X3 to start recordings in advance. In the camera you can specify that 15-30 seconds will be recorded at all times before you press the record button.
